MF 202 with MF100 Loader - Hydraulic Pump RR?

Hello folks...

I have a 1963 Massey Ferguson MF202, with a MF100 loader. I am trying to get the hydraulic pump off the front of the tractor to repair and cannot seem to figure out how it is removed.

I've removed all the mounting bolts, yet it seems it is still locked on the shaft by something. I thought maybe there was a snap ring or such, yet cannot see how I would get to one if so, as there is no clearence to get to anything beyond the mounting bolts.

Anyone have any experience with these?

Hi Jay, The 100 loader had several diff pumps &
drives but on the 202 if original would not have
any hdwe holding the pump shaft to the driving
shaft. It must be very "stuck". On the engine end
the shaft is turned in with Left Hand threads but
that wouldn't have to come off unless you need to
rpl a belt etc. Try lots of penetrate and rap on
sides of collar going over pump shaft. Chuck

Thanks for the reply Chuck...

Man, this thing is all kinds of "stuck" on there!
I used a ton of PB blaster on it, and even managed to weld up a slide hammer to attach to it, still won't move. Having an aluminum housing rules out using a torch to heat her up...

Looks like I might not be able to save this pump!

I just had the same problem with my MF30 TLB. The pump is seized to the driveshaft at the splines. I was able to get a big pipe wrench to grip the adapter plate on the crankshaft pulley end and another on the shaft and unscrew the driveshaft. That way, the pump can be pulled off the tractor so you can work on it. I"ve had mine soaking in PB Blaster for a couple of weeks now.

you could try using an air chisel with a bullnose rivethead or a ground off chisel to vibrate as many sides of the sleeve are visible - set the air pressure low and don't hit it too hard with the thing or use a chisel point since the sleeve may be a softer casting and will split - you just want to vibrate it enough too powder the rust. Put it back together with never seize compound for future need.

I pulled the front end off of a 202 for the second time in a week today and am having trouble understanding what you mean Chuck. The shaft itself turns free now that it's off the engine but there's a keeper where the shaft goes through the front axle. It is under. Is THAT what you're saying is a left hand thread Chuck?

It already had one bolt on the thread so we loosened that one and added another one top of it to try and screw it out. No luck trying to right and thread. Looks like it might be a pin on the other side of the thread. Dunno.

I'll post my question about the shaft on a new thread. Once you get the bolts pulled off the pump it should pull away pretty easily. There is a plate in between the pump and the shaft housing. Mine stuck to the pump but came away from the shaft housing no worries. Sounds like you might need dynamite for your pump.

The shaft of the pump has a metal key that sits in a groove in the shaft and mates with a key slot on the shaft that goes to the engine. it should fall out loose when the pump comes off.

By the way when you put the pump back on be sure and jog the engine so the the key slot in the shaft that comes from the engine AND the key slot in the pump shaft are at the 12 o'clock position. I learned the hard way not to do it any other way.

I'm having a simular problem with a 1963 MF 202 and a MF 100 loader. The hydraulics stopped working alltogether and when I took the pump off the front the collar that fits over the shaft and keyway on the pump has broken inside the houseing that holds the shaft from the engine side. I managed to get the large circlip out and the washer, I pulled half the sleeve out, but the other seems stuck. I was wondering how that collar is attached to the shaft, Is it on a spline or welded?

Someone was talking about the shaft from the engine being threaded on? Is that threaded into the front of the pulley on the engine?

Would I even be able to get this part?

Thanks in advance..
