I just picked up what I think is a 2135 with a Z134 engine and a loader. The oil pan is full of water and the block is likely cracked. I'm trying to avoid splitting the tractor, for now. I can't get the two long bolts out of the front of the oil pan. The pan is lose around the bolts, but they won't move in the bracket. They will just barely rock back and forth with the impact wrench. I've soaked them in kroil and tried heat. Whacking them, they ring like a bell. Any tricks?

Thanks
Stan Coryell

I received a reprint today of MF2135
Industrial service manual from JENSALES.
It looks right. The serial number tag is
missing. I don't think I can post pictures
yet, but does anyone know how I can
identify the tractor for sure before I
buy an operator's manual. I have a live
PTO, 3 speed transmission with H, S, and
L, tachometer on the dash, gas pedal on
the floor, and a throttle on the column.
The engine name plate says Harry
Ferguson, I'm not sure that means
anything.
What's the S on the high low selector?
I may end up splitting the front. Does
anybody have a source for the two long
bolts that go through the oil pan?

Can anyone help me identify the model number of this tractor?

Thanks

I would say you have a 202 workbull which is pretty much the same as a 35 ag tractor. The serial number would be on the tag that is missing on the the left hand side of the dash.

How close is that to a 135? Any way to
tell? I'd like to get a parts breakdown.
The manual for the 2135 seems very close,
as far as the engine, front end and
steering. No issues with the trans or pto,
that I know of.

Air cleaner is oil type. I have the
housing. No pre separator, no oil cup, and
no intake piping. Any idea of part numbers
or a source?

Do you recognize the loader? It needs an
oil change.

I'd like to get the hood for it and fix
the front grill.

Post pictures of the grille and any other sheet metal you might have. An oil bath air cleaner fits better with the 202 model, as ptfarmer posted, than a 2135 which all used dry air cleaners I think.

The loader may be a 99 series. It looks like it has single action lift cylinders and a single bucket cylinder.

You can access and use the on-line AGCO parts books. They changed how one gets access on the 1st of October. You have to get to the books by going through a dealer's site. Do you know your local AGCO/Massey Ferguson dealer? If you do, check their website to see if it has a link to the parts books. If you don't know your local dealer, you can use the dealer location finder at https://parts.agcocorp.com/ . If the dealer closest to you is not an ecommerce dealer you need to check their website to see if they have access to the parts books on their website. Or if you register with one of the ecommerce dealers you can use the Search Parts Books feature on their website once you sign in. Another bump in the internet road.

Thanks, the only sheetmetal left is the
dash.

I looked at some pictures and I think the
front grill is much closer to a 202. It
looks like it would have been plate with
holes in it.

Does AGCO still carry a lot of parts for
these? Any way to guess the age or serial
number series? The closest dealer is
Eastern Shore of Maryland. I'm in South
Jersey. Not too far.

All cylinders are double acting. What
hydraulic oil should be in the loader?

What gear oil in the transmission?

What oil for the power steering?

I have a service manual for a 2135, what
are the major differences?

Moderator, I'm not sure if I should change
the thread title to 202 Work Bull. We are
pretty sure that's the make of tractor.
Year and serial number are unknown.

Thanks,
Stan

I got the sleeves out and found the block
is cracked between 1 and 2, 2 and 3, and 3
and 4. I'm tempted to braze it. Has anyone
tried this? Regardless I'll put tension
rods in it. Does anybody have a size
recommendation? 5/16 will just fit. I
don't really trust 1/4

Does anybody have a source for a block?

I also found some copper shim in the oil
pan. 1/4 wide and. 010 thick. I can't
tell if it was round. If it was, it's
large diameter. Any idea what it's from?

Thanks,
Stan

I can't help too much, but it seems like they built a bajillion 202's... I believe most of the 20x series offered that engine, and then likely the 35's... I can't imagine finding a block will be that difficult.

That said, south Jersey is a bit of a challenge. There are a couple of breakers out in eastern PA that likely could help, but I don't know about down your way. Certainly nothing up in central Jersey.

S is the safety start position, will not turn over if not in S if things are correct. I would use universal hydraulic- transmission fluid in hydraulics and tranny. This is the modern day replacement for the obsolete oils of yesterday and just as good or better than what was available back then.

Thanks. I'll call around Monday. It's a
shame, the motor is in good shape. I plan
on at least trying to bolt it then block
seal it. That will give me some time to
build a motor.

Thanks
Stan
