mf 220 backhoe hydraluic block?

Help please. I have a MF 220 backhoe that blew the hose on the left side of the conrol gang as you sit to operate the hoe. I replaced the hose, then the return pressure plate on the gang reptured (see picture) I have now replaced that but want to know why the pressure builds so high before I continue. When the selector valve is set to operate the hoe, the engine starts to strain, as if there is a restriction. Any help is appreciated thanks

Is it the return to reservoir hose you replaced? Sounds like the return to reservoir is blocked. Does the return line have quick disconnects? If so and it didn't mate properly and open the ball/poppet, the blocked line would override the main pressure relief.

thanks I think it is the return. the line goes into the resivor tank. and it does have a quick connect that I can check. anything special to look for?

If it was working before you replaced the hose and the hose has a quick coupling you took apart to change the hose, there is a fairly good chance it did not completely go back together in which case it would block oil flow.

To bleed double acting cylinders, you just run them full cycle retracted to extended and back a few times, they self-bleed. From what you posted everything was working before the hose blew, it should work now. Jumping can be a sign of air in the system.

all good! cleaned valve, bypassed quick connect. works great thank u!
