MF 2200 engine serial #

I have a MF 2200 diesel (late 60"s ???) It started making a bit more noise than usual the other day and there is blowby / smoke coming from the front seal and dip stick now. I am thinking the rings are bad and it needs an overhaul but i can"t find a serial number on the engine. The engine plate on the righthand side is pretty worn. The tractors serial number is 9A 27857 Any help or ideas would be apriciated. Thanks

......try posting on the MF Forum. I have a MF2200 Industrial AD3-152, smokes, blowby, also ready for rebuild 9000+ hrs. Don"t know about tractor #"s VS engine #"s. Where are you located? Please post a picture of your 2200 in the tractor photos!!!
