MF 236 loader controller

The controller on my loader is leaking and I’m looking to replace it. Does anyone know what flow rate (GPM) I should be looking for in a replacement valve?

The loader control valve should be able to handle a flow rate equal to or slightly greater than the pump flow available to the loader. The pump volume of your tractor is needed to answer your question correctly.

I am using the internal aux pump on a MF265.The loader is hooked up to the rear quick connects. A quick google search came up with the following does this sound correct?
  • Common MF 265 Auxiliary Pump Specs: Many replacement pumps (e.g., HM531607) for the MF 265 have an auxiliary flow rate of roughly 3.33 GPM to 6.7 GPM for external functions, with total system capabilities reaching up to 10–12 GPM.

Ok a MF 265. I think that is backwards. I believe the auxiliary pump on a 265 is about 10gpm on its own. The regular internal pump is about 5 gpm for the 3-point. and I believe the power steering pump will produce about 5 gpm. If your loader is using the auxiliary pump, you would want a loader control valve with a flow rating in the 10 to 12 gpm range, 15 max.

I expect your loader valve has a detent held "float" position when you push the lift lever fully forward. Don't overlook that when looking at new valves. A true loader valve will have that feature, a plain directional valve won't.

Edited to correct spelling.
