There are two sizes listed.one adjust from 19 inches to 24 inches long.the other adjust from 20.5 to 26 inches long.on my left side lift I measured.it is 20.5 inches long and not adjustable.do I need the the one that adjusts from 19 inches long so I can adjust right side higher if needed?

If I'm not mistaken the adjustable link should be on the LEFT, because when plowing you need to extend the left side so the plow sits level in the ground when the tractor leans to the right in the furrow. The 19" link on the right wouldn't give you enough adjustment to do that, I don't think.

With the adjustable link on the left I can't see any need to go shorter, so I'd get the 20.5" one to match the fixed link.

Pictures of tractors for sale show the adjustable link on the right, but that doesn't seem "right" to me...

I put the 3 point on my MF40. Got the parts from a salvage yard and I've got a crank adjuster on both sides. That being said, I think from the factory all I've seen were on the right, but I don't think it really matters which side it's on. I know having one on both sides is handy sometimes.

Agree
The crank on the Fords is always on the right side. Sometimes the lift link on the left side is also adjustable but it usually does not have the crank.
