MF-34

Hi All,
We just purchased what we think is a MF-34 (from what I could see on the tag - after reading the posts). Serial #9A-9I409. We bought it to do some small farm work and it started right up and sounded good. After getting it home (it had a straight pipe on it) - my dh put a muffler on it and noticed a slight rod knock. So - now we need to get it repaired before anything happens. (So it sits and we're still doing the manual work). And since this is an old one we know nothing about parts and pieces - I can get a manual from the site. But where can I find the parts? Which ones? And he want to change the oil - which parts for that? And where do I get these - any local places? (We're in NJ)

The MF 34 is the model number for your front loader. Your tractor model number should be on the hood of the tractor and on the serial number plate to the left of the steering column.According to the MF data the MF 34 loader was standard on the MF30 and the MF40.However, the loader could have been swapped with another tractor. Assuming that is not the case, than the s/n you provided indicates tha your tractor is a 1970.If it is a MF 30 it will be a 4cyl, either gas{continental} or diesel{perkins}. If it is MF40, the engine will be a three cylinder both perkins. Let us know what you have and we can prvide further info. Hope this helps.
