MF 40 Throttle Linkage Adjustment

My MF 40 has the hydraulic shuttle shift transmission. It engages with a jerk when I press the forward petal and the manual says it should engage smoothly. When
listing the causes for this, the trouble shooting manual says the throttle linkage needs to be adjusted properly doesn't explains the procedure for adjusting the
linkage.
Does anyone have the procedure for adjusting the throttle linkage on this tractor with the instant reverse shuttle transmission?

Might just be dry/rusty linkage, it SHOULD shift into forward or reverse BEFORE the engine speed increases. A too high idle speed will cause the same trouble. Try adding your favorite lube to all the linkage joints and see if that helps before trying to adjust anything.

A combination of throttle linkage lubrication, minor linkage adjustment, and lowering the idle rpm have all helped to smooth out the jerky operation of the transmission.

Thank you for your assistance.
