looking at purchasing a MF 50 LP. has not run in a while. I know nothing about Massey. So I am looking for input. Is this a good model, I am sure the vaporizer will have to be
replaced and possibly the carb. Is this. good tractor?, were there any common problems with it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

They were very good tractors. No common problems that I know about. I have a diesel. LPG was very popular here years ago almost all farmers used propane until the diesel tractors in the 60's.

MF 50 are good tractors. The 3 speed transmission with Hi/Lo makes it very versatile. If it has the 21/2 inch lift cylinder you cannot get parts for that pump. You can replace it with a new pump but be sure and put the pressure relief valve from the old one on the new pump. If it has the 3 inch cylinder, no problems, parts are available. Other parts are readily available. The Continental engine often has cracks in the head but they an be repaired. If there hasn't been a problem like a bad head gasket being an LP the engine should be clean.
