can anyone tell me how the linkage is connected inside trans on a mf 50c instant reverse?
If you have it split from engine and your forward reverse controls (linkage) are mechanical and go through bell housing, now would be the time to re and re them to eliminate any play in the linkage. On our 40B the needle bearing in the bell housing was toast and the pin connecting to the valve plunger was sloppy. Makes for jerky movement, if worn. Perhaps yours is solenoid operated?got her split tonight What I can see what a gunked up mess hopefully working on her all day tuesday to get out clutch
thanks for the input I'm going to take all the linkage apart and clean I know the bearings you're talking aboutIf you have it split from engine and your forward reverse controls (linkage) are mechanical and go through bell housing, now would be the time to re and re them to eliminate any play in the linkage. all apart found bad plate reverse clutch I'm kind of worried about all the needle bearings and putting them back together it seems there is a ring attached to the reverse set of gears to another ring does that seem rightJust cut heads off bolts round them on ends and I usually cut groove in them for screw driver
Hydraulics is just pressure and suction line
Pull left side cover under guages makes it easier to get to the bolts
There should be no play in that linkage anywhere, from pedal through to spool valve.transmission is apart everything so far looks pretty good needle bearings and washers went everywhere any suggestions what to use to clean parts besides brake cleaner
