I found a MF97 4wd sitting and perhaps can buy it. It is complete and pretty clean and perhaps run. I was told it had been overheated and still ran but burnt oil. I was thinking my GVI could donate parts but that is not correct.
Tires are still up.

I was thinking of offering $2000 or less. Is this in the ballpark?
Are engine parts for this pricey?

thanks
George

Most all engine parts are pricey these days. I would think it is definately worth saving though. You could install a 425 engine if you already have the parts, wouldn't be original, but neither is a 605 or 800 and people do that all the time. If you decide it is too much of a project for you please let us know, as I am sure there are others who would be interested.

George,
You can't buy the front drive axle and transfer case for $2k. If you can get it for that it would be a good deal.

In Canada Massey 97 FWA's seemed to be more plentiful. I had a good running one and I got 5K for it. Massey 97's sell better than MM G706. Probably because Massey is more popular in Europe.
