Wanting to know if a 6 1/2 ft. disc is wide enough for a MF 165 ( to cover tire tracks)

depends on what width your tires are set on ie.54" 60" 72" ect.

my disc is a 6ft altas 300, it has a rear cutting width of about 6 1/2 ft.

I pull it with a TO-35 Ferguson

I would think you need at lease a 7 ft heavy pickup disc or a 8ft wheel disc for that size tractor.

I understand you can pull a disc about 1 ft wider, if its a wheel disc.

I do not think a 165 would know a 6 ft disc was even back there.

to answer your question, I would want a wider disc, do not think you are going to be happy with a 6 ft disc.

note to file: these cheap disc do not come with blade scrapers, they will plug up in heavy soil.
better quality disc have blade scrapers. I had to add chains to each disc open to stop the plug ups, that was real frustrating.
