MF135 differential drive coupler

Do what?

New User
I’m needing some advice to repair a problem I located yesterday. As you can see from photos I’ve got some repairs to do.
I’m working through the PTO shifter access port on the left side. I need to remove pto drive gear 26 and part 24 from the differential bevel gear shaft but I don’t have clearance because they hit the housing for the hydraulic controls forward and to the right of bevel gear shaft. Can I slide the bearings out of the race and provide slack to move the bevel gear shaft to the left far enough to clear the hydraulic control housing? I’d rather avoid removing the lift cover. Is there a better idea?
How do I determine how tight to install nut #24 to load the bearing?

Thank you John Deere D. This is much more technical than I was hoping to learn! After viewing a couple of pre-load videos, it seems unavoidable that I remove the lift. Btw are you a jet engine mechanic? Looking at your profile pic.
