MF135 Serial Numbers

I am in need of new sediment bowl assembly for my MF135 but appears to be a serial number split, with two different types of bowl assemblies, depending upon serial number. I cannot find a serial number placard in the usual place (steering wheel area). Any other place the serial number would be located on the MF135 tractors?

I need fuel filters as well, and am going to run into the same problem of ordering the correct parts on the first try, there, if I can't find the serial number...

The serial number tag is generally on the vertical part of the dash cowl to the left of the center of the tractor. Also look around on the right side below the red sheet metal dash cowl.

Too many come through here to remember everyone's tractor. It helps if you tell what engine you in a case like this, so people don't have to go back through your old posts to find out what you have. I found a post where you said you have a diesel.

A picture or two here might help. According to the parts book there was no sediment bowl on the diesel fuel tank. Some transfer/lift pumps had a bowl, some didn't. It looks like two different pumps with bowls so I am guessing this might be what you are looking at. The screen and gasket show the same part numbers for both versions.

It appears all the fuel filter elements are the same part number. One Filter set up has a deep glass bowl and the other has a shallow glass or metal bowl. Again, pictures can help.

Thank you, Jim. This guy pictured here is leaking when the Perkins diesel is running. Right side of the tractor (opposite side from oil filter.)

That is the transfer/lift pump with a sediment bowl attached. Where is it leaking from? Around the bowl?
Thank you. Looked like from around the bowl but I'm unable to run the tractor again till I get the oil change complete.

It has probably done it for awhile and I just noticed today when I was on that side of the tractor with it idling.

If it’s a really old 135 there may be a plate behind the air cleaner with a serial number like SDMxxx.

just an fyi mine is a 1964 and the newer pump would not accept the fuel line with a metal ferrule. I had to use a flare end with rubber o ring like on newer models.

also with only two bolts the pump still might leak against the block. I put some rtv and it stopped running down the side of the engine.

I have a Massey serial number on a tractor I recently purchased but I can't seem to find the model and year data. My idea is to do some minor restoration but that seems to be rather difficult without at least a year and model. So far everything I have ordered for the project doesn't fit. I know that maybe my tired old brain acting up, but I really need some help. I have the number from the plate attached to the dash (9A T(I)44I(T)80). By googling the various configurations, I haven't been able to solve my problem. I have also found several casing numbers, but they haven't led me anywhere. I have gotten guesses from several people who work on Massey Furguson Tractors but so far, no joy.

Welcome to the forums.

Massey Ferguson used the capital I for a 1 in many places. 9A144180 is a 1972 serial number. The 9A series of numbers was used for a number of different models. Post some pictures of your entire tractor from all sides and show the dash and transmission and we can likely figure out the model.

arcdancer,

I should have added it is best if you start threads of your own about your tractor. Tagging onto older threads of others often ends up with your issues being overlooked as people tend to read the first post and start replying to it, not your late addition. When you come back with more pictures, please start your own thread to get the best help. At the top right across from the forum title is a red "Post Thread" button, use it to start your own thread.
