MF165 Hydraulic filter

Hi there, is the hydraulic oil filter underneath the top cover and if so should the top cover come straight off or is there anything needing to de disconnected. When you get in there where is the filter?

Thanks,
James

Hello James,
The Ferguson pump filter can be accessed through the LH side cover. There are my and other posts on YT relating to this. If you have a tractor with an auxillary pump it will be necessary to split it between the gearbox and centre casing to access the aux filter. If your tractor is a later model you may have a triangular plate on the underside of the centre casing. The Ferguson pump filter is accessed through here......after you've drained the oil of course.

thanks for the info. mine is the earlier model. do you have to drain the oil to get to the filter or can you access through the top?

emergency method: jack up pass side real high then pull the cover, works but a very poor way to do it

right way: drain all the juice thru all the plugs, clean well inside and refill with clean fluid

up to you

Here is what a 150 looks like with IPTO. If you have IPTO and/or Aux Hydraulics pulling the top cover has to be done.

You will have to remove the right cover "with the dip stick" and remove the ROLLER from the linkage before lifting the top cover. It's very heavy!!!!!!!!!!!!
