MF165 tachometer cable

I have older mf165 not sure of exact year and the tach cable broke, I have ordered two different cables to try and find the right one. Anyways the tach cable connects straight to the back of the block with a short rod that goes into the engine and sticks out of the housing some (7/8 male thread for cable connection). I cannot find a cable to go over the rod and still screw on it. Picture attached of where it connects to block showing the rod that sticks out and drives the cable.

Welcome to the forums.

No picture.

Which engine does your 165 have? Is the serial tag still on the panel below the steering wheel

The AD4.203 diesel attached to the rear of the engine camshaft, the Continental gas tach cable drove from the rear of the generator. Sounds like you are getting sent the wrong cable assembly.
