MF165 water temp gauge

i am going to put a new water temp gauge on my MF165 but i dont know how to connect it. Does it need an electrical supply or not?

Well, if your 165 is like my 150 it has a manual type gauge. It has a bulb that is held into the head by a pipe fitting type nut. No electric unless you want a light in the gauge.

Or:

You could install a sending unit type gauge. It uses a wire from the gauge to the sending unit (screwed into the head). Simple to hook up, instructions will be in the box.
