MF245 fuel pump/lines

I removed my fuel pump on my Perkins and man were the line tough to remove, there s a o ring in each port where the fuel lines connect. My question, anyone know what type of o rings are used to replace the old ones or can I utilize these brass fittings and run rubber fuel lines? Thank you

Perkins used 1/4 inch line olives on most three and four cylinder engines, 5/16 inch rubber olives on six cylinder engines. I have both sizes on hand, most diesel service shops should have them too if you have one close.

Ok, I got new olives, can anyone explain the sequence that they are installed? Ie. Fuel pump, olive, flared fuel line and tighten or Is It fuel pump, flared fuel line then olive and tighten?

Depends on the line, some have a "bubble" the rubber olive sets next to. Line nut pushes against that bubble. Some lines have a small end flare, rubber olive goes over the flare end, line nut pushes against the rubber olive. In both designs the olive expands as the line nut is drawn down to seal the line. Nut does not need to be as tight to seal, like brass sleeve ends do. One of my tractors there's no flare or line bubble as I used steel brake line. Just make sure the line end is in place before the nut is drawn down.
