MF3165 power steering filter and serial number location?

i have a massey ferguson 3165 with the 2.9L continental gas engine. it appears to have the incorrect power steering filter in it. the one that is in it is a bendix 046648 and it does not seal against the top of the cover, so it looks like it wont filter anything. does anyone know what the correct filter is for this tractor? i was also wondering if anyone knows where to find the serial number on it?

From the 3165 parts book it appears the element is MF # 1023057M1. It also appears there should be a washer and spring between it and the cover. This link will take you to the parts book, if it works. Look at page 118 Power Steering Pump (Gas).
