Greetings y'all Longtime tractor owner (ford, fordsons, etc) and now a first time massery owner. 1962 MF35 with the perkins 3 cyl, power steering, diff lock. First question is what the heck is the resevoir just rearward of the injector pump? Second question is what kind of juice for the power steering? I do have a service manual which was less than forthcoming with info. Have operator and parts manual on order. TIA Cooper

Oil filter? A picture would be helpful. What color is your power steering fluid? If red then Auto trany fluid, if light tan then hydraulic fluid. When you get the Operator's manual it will tell you what you need.

Do I feel foolish - the Reservoir is where you add oil to the beast! It sits FORWARD of the pump and is siamized to the front motor plate/timing cover. Realized there is no cap on valve cover to add oil- been working on too many British cars lately. As to the ps issue - the fill port is a npt plug - can't really see inside - guess you fill till the juice spills out. No wet on my soda straw dip stick so I don't have a clue as to the color of the fluid. Can anyone reference me to service data for this system as I could not find any info in the service manual. Much thanks for the replies. Cooper
