MF35 vs TO35

I have a TO35 but when looking for parts most just say MF35. Can someone tell me the difference between a TO35 and MF35. Also my power steering is leaking from up under the dash. I see a seal in the parts list but it just says for a 35, would it be the same for a TO35? Thanks in advance for any help.

Make sure the seals you order are for a power steering model as the manual components are not the same. The to and mf models should fit .

Most parts are the same between the TO and MF 35s. They both used the Z134 Continental engine so all engine parts should be the same. Hood sheet metal changed a bit from the earliest TO35s to the later TO35s, then changed again with the MF35s. Hydraulic pumps changed early in the TO35 searies, but the later pump can be installed in the earlier tractors.

What kind of parts are you looking for?

(good to know about the hydraulic pump)

I'd also add that a few of the transmission gears changed mid-run of TO35 (late summer 1955). I have a May 1955 TO35 the family bought new and the trans locked up then sat for a dozen years. I split the tractor and fixed all that and while in there upgraded the gear set to the newer ones. The originals showed face pitting from overload (plowing) but really not that bad considering this tractor has nearly a million hours on it. I think it did get one engine rebuild in the late 1980s.

From the transmission repair: make sure you replace both shifter boots AND the boot on the three point top link. Otherwise water gets in the transmission. One of the several bearings I replaced was $95 and this was before our current economy inflationary surge.
