Waiting on decals!!!

Wqe were (are) having trouble trying to find out what year it was built!!! It?s actually a utility model by the ID tag!!!
We know it was once purchased on a State of Kansas auction and it must have been used by Air Force as it has 12
digits In the serial number!! There isn?t any record (that we have found) kept on these particular tractors!!! Is was
yellow originally but my son (owner) wanted to paint it the traditional red and metallic flint grey so that?s what it is!!! It
also had cast rear wheel centers which we swapped for the pressed steel!!! Overhauled the motor too!!! We did find
out by the motor serial number that it was built and shipped in May or June of 1964 and shipped to
the MF factory!!! So assuming it was built in 1964!

Hi If your serial # is between 655 131 000 001 and 651 131 167 You have a 1963 MF 35 tractor that was sold to the Army to work at one of the air force bases. I have one that I have restored and had the original decals duplicated. My tractor had the original brass Army tag but was still not able to identify which base. It came from Amhurst MA when I bought it. The seat that you have is correct and also the solid front axle. They also came with heavy cast rear center dishes and an extra weight that was bolted on to each axle. This gave an extra ton of weight to the tractor. If interested I could try to locate some photos of my tractor.

Yes would like to see ur photos!!! His had power steering but was in bad shape and could not locate parts so converted it to manual!!! Having problems trying to locate new seat cushions!!

Would you be so kind as to walk me through posting a photo to this site? Also if you do not mind mentioning a concern on your tractor. I think that you will have problems with the muffler being that close to the hood. I have a vertical exhaust on my Gov 35 and when it got hot it ruined the decal and my muffler is further away from the hood than yours is. Just an observation.

I understand ur comment on the muffler and plan on running it down to a horizontal muffler!!! Do u have the photo on ur computer if so just go down to wheee it says upload, wil give instructions as u go!!! If u don?t have the pic on you computer i don?t know you can post it unless u were to send it to my email!!!

That is a really special tractor what with it being a military version. I wish you could get the cast wheels back for it...…
Thank you for sharing with us.

According to the parts book the 655 did not have power steering. The MF35 utility/turf, MF135 orchard, and MF2135 industrial had the same front axle as the 655 but had power steering as an option.
