Hi
I have a MF40 backhoe loader that I am about to reseal the swing actuator.
It is a side shift loader fitted with a Dowty actuator, the actuator sits above the backhoe swivel brackets not between them.
I have undone the bolts that hold the motor on the top bracket but it refuses to move other than about 1/16", is there a bearing in the uppermost bracket or does it pivot off the Dowty output shaft?
It would appear that to reseal the paddle seals I need to remove the unit from the tractor and take both the top and bottom plates off, there are no external oil leaks.
There is also a type of top hat that has a bracket mounted of it for hose support on top of the actuator that I cannot remove, so not sure what is underneath it, could the be a circlip.
I seem to be able to find plenty of information for the actuator that fits between the swivel brackets like on the MF52 and MF54 backhoes but not on the side shift models, even down loaded a manual but thinking the type I have maybe in it, to no avail.
Hoping someone out there can help.
Best Regards
