MF50-hydraulic overload?

Using my subsoiler in first gear and hit a large root. 3 point stays up when running, only slowly goes down then engine off. no control, goes up as soon as started. Is there an overload reset or did I break something? 1964-s/n 537228 diesel deluxe

I don't know the Ferguson System well
but do know that the top link will
control the 3 point in draft mode.
Could you have jammed the top link ?

I definitely jammed the top link. I just don't know what that caused. My repair manual doesn't cover what constitutes an overload event or if there is a reset capability. Hoping to get some advice before removing the cover. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ed Abbott

The cover will need to come off you likely knocked off the ferguson bypass protection getting stuck open, the little actuator circled in red must be free to move and could be rusted in place or you hit something hard with the 3pt and it got stuck,

Thank you for your reply. My draft control was frozen solid with rust from years of sitting in the weather before I got recently got it and got it running. I am on track now. Ed Abbott

Thank you for your reply and the very helpful information. My draft control was frozen solid with rust from years of sitting in the weather before I got recently got it and got it running. The position control worked fine and I was not familiar with the draft control and didn't know that it affected the use of a subsoiler. I know now.
