MF65 diesel will not run

The tractor ran great up until last winter, at which time it was getting hard to start. Thinking it was the fuel filters, I changed them and still it was hard to get it to start. I had it running once last summerwhen it sputtered to a stop. I have been told the injectors may be plugged. Is this something I can clean or do I need to replace them? Could it be the injector pump needs replacing?

Have you checked the air filter? A clean air filter is crucial on a diesel.
Make sure that the fuel supply from the tank is adequate. Often the screen at the fuel tank valve is clogged with dirt, alge, sludge etc. If it can't get out of the tank, the fuel will do you no good. Look for kinked/damaged fuel lines and make sure all the fittings are tight so there is no air leak in the fuel delivery system. Bleed the fuel filters to make sure the air is out of them. If there is a bleed fitting o the injector pump, bleed this of air also. Purge the injector lines til they run fuel out of them. You do this by loosening the fittings at the injector and cranking the engine until fuel comes out around the fitting, and then tightening them closed.(Make sure your battery is full charged before you do this.) Do this in the sequence I've indicated before you start changing parts.
You didn't mention anything about the ambient air temps. If it's cold and there is water in the fuel, this can freeze up and restrict fuel delivery. If it's really cold and you have a summer fuel it can jell up.

The last time I used the tractor was late September and although it was hard to start, the tractor seemed to run fine. Before I could finish, after cutting five acres of hay, it sputtered to a stop. Fuel does run freely as there is a new shut off valve and new filters. I will try bleeding the injectors as suggested and see if there is results.
