FWIW, we had clutch disengagement problems with our MHF50 once upon a time. One of the pivot stud deals on one of three release levers had broken off. Clutch could never fully disengage like that.
Took it to a local clutch rebuilder and had them redo the discs as well. Followed the book for reassembly, made a gage or two per the book, and its been fine ever since.
Ours was the dual disc coil spring type.
