It's fall, so time to 'mouse-proof' the tractors. A drop or two of peppermint oil on a cotton ball, then two behind the tool box & between the gas tank & hood on the N's. A few more for the 740, golf cart & A model. Seems to work. And smells better than moth balls!

Bruce, that may work well, but nothing works better than my cat, Gizmo. He is better than any trap or other method used out there. Keeps the whole barn free of anything that walks, crawl, or slithers. Only thing wrong with him is he thinks the neighborhood is his hunting grounds, and brings home his trophies to show me. Neighbors on each side of me think he is the priceless.

I almost never see a mouse but then I do have to many cats. Only place I might see a mouse is in the chicken house and that is where the cats never go

Mice are just about the only thing this guy hasn't killed yet. Moles, voles, ground hogs and even a skunk. (that was fun) But so far, no mice.

He probably would have killed that rat snake if I hadn't grabbed it first.

Get you a JR. Mice(must warn you to have good wiring diagram on all equipment), snakes, tree rats(thats what he has here) moles(gotta watch out not to twist an ankle)and deer(well maybe I'm stretching it a bit)
And after a hard days work he'll take a dip in the pool.

We got our first JR in September when the son-in-law had to move & his new place didn't allow pets. So far, all Jack does is chase Gordon (the pointer) around the pasture & interfere w/ his hunting.

Heres our two JR's sadly there in doggy heaven now, but we loved them for 15 good yrs. I also had 2 blood hounds an 85 pound female Magee lou and 120 lb male Sargent Otis Rinklebrow The male once belonged to Mass. State Police. no digital pix.I remember finding slober stains around the house long after the hounds were gone. All we have now is 2 cats and dead mice, dead weasels dead chipmunks and dead birds.

My brother got a Jack Russell terrier from people that left him outside on a chain. This dog had an unbelievable energy level. He ran everywhere. Constantly running.

I had a bad rat problem last year with my tractor wiring at the hunting club. Picked up a pack of Fresh Cab from Tractor supply and put them all in the dash and on battery tray. Worked like a charm. Just in case someone wants to try it...
