MIG welder problems

I was making a set of wheels for my new Miller Synchrowave 250 TIG when the Miller 210 stopped feeding wire . The wire roll is free and the drive roller stops .if you wait five minutes the drive roller will sort of try to work. If you wait half an hour or so the machine returns to normal fire feeds --welds fine . After 20 minutes welding it stops feeding again . It must be some thing getting hot then cooling but what? I kind of hate MIG welders handy as they are .

Love my 135 Miller. Bought it about eighteen years ago and only problem has been a switch and maybe a fan, can't remember. Replaced the feed cable twice. Don't know anything about a 210 but maybe a bad circuit board. Boss bought me a new 252 Miller and it had a bad circuit board before I even plugged it in.

Loosen up your drive roller up see it the feed is binding up. Has a overload protection. We poof graphite down the whip. Like kink liner. Dirty or bad rusty wire. See if fan is running across transformer, plastic or dirty vents. They need to be blow out. Mouse nest. (The last two I work on.) Check your voltage long cord voltage drop. Bad connection on cord or plug. Or a bad thermo disk.(the older welder) check the speed control been hit or dirty. Contact cleaner. Check your whip dirty switch or bad connection.

My old Century welder was doing about the same thing and after I took a magnifying glass to the circuit board I found two out of the three solder connections to the wire speed control cracked. I added about four inches of wire and zip tied the circuit board to something inside of the case to eliminate vibration on the joints.
Think I had the sheet metal off all summer before I figured that out finally.

On my Hobart the same problem was caused by a bad switch in the gun. I just used a contact file to clean them up. Start with the simple stuff first.

I would hook up a wire to bypass the trigger switch where it comes into the welder. when it quits feeding then try the bypass. If it works you know it is the switch. The other thing is the drive motor, but when they quit they do not start again.
