Miller Bobcat worth

I'm window shopping for a generator/stick machine. Always thought the bobcats from miller looked nice. I found one thats used, approx 2,000+hrs., that's been gone through by a weld repair shop. The price they asking isnt nuts, but I'm more thinking what would it [b:a719827ff1]be worth to resell[/b:a719827ff1] if I needed to downsize in a couple years?

It's a 250 nt. Any opinions welcome, ya I know that's hard not having the machine infront of ya. Looks good, has some dings, but doesn't look wore out either. Shop asking $2k.

$2K is exactly what I was thinking it would be worth. And by the way they are the top of the line of portable welder generators.

All I can tell you is I have a Miller
Trailblazer 302. A bit bigger machine than
the Bobcat. Does all the welding I need,
and powers the place beautifully when the
utility is out.

I have it setup so all I need to do is plug
in a cord to the welder right where I store
it, flip the transfer switch and I am ready
for backup power.

I have burnt a lot of rods with a bobcat and never been
disappointed. Got a trailblazer with the digital read not long
before I quit construction and i liked it quite bit better but as
long as everything works on the bobcat you will be satisfied.
I?m figuring worth 2-$3000. Also look around they are on every
mechanics truck and job site in the country. To me that is the
best testament to quality and reliability

I have a late 90's Miller NT 251, bought at a supply house dispersal of rental units. It had 1400 some odd hours on it. Good clean power, and does both jobs well, welding and generator. One heavy unit too, look at the size of the generator inside it. It has an Onan engine in it, 22 HP performer. 8500 watt continuous. Tin is beat up from being a rental unit, but I only gave 1000 bucks for it in '02. It's sat more than it's been used, but I do seem to use it more lately. I think these were a step up from more common Bobcat which were 225's. Might be a tad high on the price, but if field ready from the shops re-furbish, still a lot less than new. Just remember its heavy and can be awkward to move around even with the wheel kit like mine has.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I do like the Miller machines. Learned stick on the dialarcs'. Also got to play with new Miller and Lincoln machines doing mig & tig. The machine I posted about sold already, but they have more coming in soon. Also have Trailblazers, though out my range of my pockets. One can drool tho!

I've got a Trailblazer with the kubota diesel. Good unit. Runs good and starts good in the winter even in the below zero temps. Bought it new in 1999 never looked back. Only has a couple hundred hours on it I think.
