minnie U value

Hello fellas. I was wondering if some of you gents would do me the favor of looking at a link and giving me your thoughts? I am a farmall man so minnies are pretty greek to me. I ran across this ad and always thought they were a pretty neat old tractor but I don"t have the first clue about thier value. I was reading what this fella wrote and I have to wonder about his "internet inquiries" so I figured I would come to a place I know where there is alot of wisdom.

Would you please give me your thoughts on this? Thank you kindly.

Erwin.

I have a 1955 UTS, with very straight sheet metal, and a strong running engine. The engine was rebuilt buy my uncle who owns upward of 150 MM's, so he knows what a "complete" rebuild is. I got a very good deal on that tractor. I looked at the link to ebay you had, and the current bid at $501.00 I belive is a very good deal, IF the sheet metal is good and/or the engine runs or is at least not stuck. If you are a farmall guy, just apply the same old tractor buying basics to the prarie gold colored tractors. If the ebay seller gets better pictures and more information, be prepared for a lot of other bidders, that looks like it might be a good one! Good luck!

Erwin, The models R,Z, AND U are very common tractors. Compare them to your Farmall H and M's, as far as common that is. To really help you out just compare it in that condition to a Farmall Super M of the same style "narrow front and all". That should help you out with a ball park figure. You can go to any tractor show and when you do find a Minnie it will be one of those models. No one in their right mind would pay over 4000.00 for a fully restored UTU. Hope this helps you out.

You could probably sell that loader to "Allan in Neb" who posts on the Tractors page. He is using a Farmhand that looks the same as that one but his is on a Farmall tractor. That will be a UTU tractor with a Hand Clutch and the low mounted seat. If you include freight costs I would think it should be worth two or three times the current bid. Bryce
