Misaligned Generator Pulley - Pics

Who said a digital camera was not a MUST for a beginner's restoration job? OF course, one never seems to have the PERFECT picture of what is needed. I found two pics of the generator...one from last weekend (red) and when Chicken Bones was just purchased (blue). There is a major difference in the space between the fan belt pulley and generator. My hunch is I did in fact remove the pulley and installed it backward. Anyone else see what I see?

Ah! You bonehead! At least you know what the problem is! Should be an easy fix, as long as you don't scratch the paint!

Your tractor looks terrific. I can't wait to see it finished.

Kevin, thanks. What I most likely do is walk up to the tractor and drag a screwdriver tip across the generator before doing anything....that way the inevitable scratch won't be so tough to stomach. Well, maybe not.

One of the best pieces of advice I received on the forum was (I can not recall who suggested this) was not to sweat the small stuff. With that being said, I am going to be very careful with the pulley swap, but if I do scratch the paint...oh well, I will touch it up and plow forward.

Had same problem. Tore tractor down and removed. put it back on, same problem. read this post, and turned pulley. damn it lined up. the mechanic that had the tractor before me, put it on wrong. Best deal is to blame it on others.
