Miss my Dog

I had to put my dog down a couple weeks ago. She got where she could no longer get up. On our last few walks she would not want to go very far. She was going on 13. I don't know her exact age. She was a rescue dog from Mississippi. A few dogs were brought to California after a weather disaster. We have had a few dogs in our past 50 or so years. They are all special, Some where out there is another dog waiting for a home. Not going to be in a hurry right now. Miss my dog Dixie. Stan

My heart hurts for you. My dogs have all been great and I miss them each and every day. Hang tough.

It's rough. Almost didn't read it becasue I knew it would make miss the guy we lost last August. 6'3" 235# 60yr old redneck biker trash sitting here tearing up.

And you'll give another rescue a good home when it's time . We are never looking when we find "the one".

Very sorry to hear of the loss. Our animal friends take up a large part of our heart just like family. I grew up having big dogs and now we have 2 little dogs. One we had and one we adopted when my mother in law passed. They are great little family members. If anything happened to them I would be heartbroke ! I know the feeling. It’s tough !

My companion dog Cocoa died last May, 11 years old mamory gland cancer. we went for walks in the pastures and fields everyday. Still can't talk or think of her too much. tears and lump. Sorry for your loss Stan, it's not easy to get thru. gobble

Sorry for the loss of your friend. I still really miss a few that have been gone for many years. I have one snuggled up to me now that is closer to me than the others, we will sure miss each other when that time comes.

You have our utmost sympathy and understanding. Our dogs that have reached the Rainbow Bridge are still often called as if they were still here. It is hard to lose one. What they do for us is priceless. She will always have a special place in your heart. She would also want you to have another forever companion to love and make new memories. You will know when that time comes.

Stan a year and a half ago I had to put Koda to sleep he was almost 16.
Seeing him put to sleep is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.
I'll miss him for ever. Time does help heal.

I'm proud of you for having the "guts" to do what was in the dog's (not your) best interest. I recently had to do that with my 15 year old too.....it was best for her. My MIL didn't have the guts and she let her Lab. suffer a lot of years before it died off natural causes.....same problem....legs wouldn't support the dog's weight.
