MM 585 piston question

I'm trying to find a different piston for my 585 engine. Anyone know the compression height on a 585 piston? Distance from the center of the wrist pin to the top of the piston. Thanks!

I believe a 531 Deere piston is used in some 585 pulling engines. Something to look into. unfortunately I don't have any of my old 585 pistons laying around to measure.

Well thats what I'm looking at using. Before I buy them though I wanted to see just how close they would actually be. Either way they are alot cheaper than a new set of moline pistons.

I wasn't sure if new MM 585 pistons were available from AGCO or not. The trick might be finding good standard 585 blocks. Also I have heard the piston to bore clearance is in the rebuild manuals is wrong and messed up quite a few new engines. Don't quote me on that.

Yes you're right about about the clearance. In mine im running about .015 and havent had any problems yet. I'm kinda curious how much clearance would be too much.
