MM U electronic igntion

Jake, I've heard that you need to use "resistance" plug wires with these electronic igns or they tend to "burn out", have you had experience with them in this respect? tia, John

I have heard the same thing. I have a Pertronix kit in a John Deere that I have. Set it up with a Pertronix coil and the carbon core wires as per the instructions. It sure runs a lot better than having a mag on it. Starts instantly, doesnt flood as easy. And where I live (Oregon) it gets really damp for a lot of the year, i dont have to worry about points getting corroded.

Thanks for the answer, I'm going to install one in my M670/LP, Pertronix hopefully, didn't know if that was fact or fiction.

We've sold lots of these ignitors, failure rate is extremely low, we prefer to sell them with our coil, have never had a failure with that combination yet, of course as soon as I say that it'll probably change, Dale, 920 295 3278.

im pretty sure it is a 1142 pertronix kit we have in our U molines and a 40511 coil. we havent had any problems with ours. it is the same kit we run in my wd45 allis. there is one on ebay now for $80 shipped for the kit.
