WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS A PRICE VALUE ON A MINNEAPOLIS MOLINE U SPECIAL DIESEL STANDARD? RESTORED CONDITION WITH COMPLETE OVERHAUL. IM THINKING ON PURCHASING ONE AND JUST NEED OPINIONS. THANKS!!

All UTSD Specials were standards. I would think a restored one with all tin intact and good rubber should bring 5-6K. There were only about 300 made and most were sold in Canada.

Which Fuel Pump does it have? rotary Bosch or Inline Bosch?

Depending on quality of restoration & tires, etc. from $2,500 to $10,000. Inline pump worth much more as they were all exported, (or intended export out of North America)

The one I owned was inline, and I have yet to find another in the US, but we speculate there are a few. there are a handful of "bar grill" in Canada & US with inline pump.

I have a UTSD-M with inline pump. The 4 other U diesels all have rotary. Also have 2 - 5 Stars with inline. Were they for export also? One has a 189 prefix in serial number. Another mystery.

It has rotary bosch pump. Very nice resoration with complete engine rebuild. rebored cylinders new pistons, heads redone, reground cranshaft, ect. ect.Body shop paint job.

If the 5-stars were original with inline that would be a possibility, or perhaps they were "test" models, that never got changed back? the 189 Prefix is for a Modified M5, but as many of us have learned, MM had many on of a kind, and on-off models roll out and end up In the field. Also a possibility that it was a field change by a customer or Bosch under service work, I've heard of a few changed that way.

I've read several Service Letters covering this topic, but don't have the originals, and can't locate my photocopies yet after moving. I learned of this pump variation when I owned my "UTS-D Special" about 15 years ago, so I've paid more attention ever since.
