MM U302 Super Tach Replacement

Does anyone know of a source for a replacement tachometer on a 1967 MM U302 Super? I understand the tach on these is different then say a G1000, is there internal differences (i.e. gearing) or what exactly is the difference?

10A23770 is tach for U302. Books says Jetstar 3 same. White face tach originally electroluminescent.

I am being told that they are discontinued and the few other places I've tried that typically have old stock, don't have any. Was wondering about any aftermarket options or ways to make say a G1000 tach work such as a reduction adapter like those used on the backs of the old generators to make them run the tachs at the proper speed. I believe the G1000 tach runs about half the speed of the U302 approximately.
