Mmg water pump not pumping

My mmg is not circulating water. It has that big thermostat housing kinda like on the gvi that I can't find. Has a bypass tube from there to the pump. Deleted both cause I can't find a thermostat. Water didn't circulate before and won't now. Water seal in pump with spring was replaced. Opened it up again (there is a big squeak) and how much end play should shaft have. Its all apart- impeller is knife edged compared to the spares I have setting around. Going to replace shaft, impeller, whole front pump housing, seals and bushing with the parts tractor stuff that I know work. Will that fix it? My basic question is how much wear can be on that impeller? ?

is the impeller tight on the shaft ? i had an impeller come off on my white 2-85 and thats why the coolant was not circulating. i just felt the bottom hose and it was cold so i knew it was a water pump problem.

The impeller is tight. It is the shaft that is definitely a problem. IT has a lot of end play, and the impeller is worn to a knife edge. And im assuming that end play allowed it to wear into the pump housing. I'm replacing pump front housing, shaft, both seals, bushing, and impeller. The circulation problem has to be there, i just dont understand how much wear it would take for it to not circulate water. I'm throwing the old shaft, impeller, and front pump housing away.
