What steps would I follow to take the gears out of the transmision? I want to remove the one that I have circled in red in my picture.Is there a way to get this gear out without having to remove the differential?

I rebuilt a 40U transmission and i had to remove the final drives rear differentrial. I worked from the top to the bottom taking the three shafts out of the case
