Model A Ford Car With Tractor adapter kit

I have a Model A Ford Car With Tractor adapter kit, and would like to know more about it. Mine replaces the orignal frount wheeles with 30 inch spoked wheels. The rear axle is turned upside down, the orignal rear wheels taken of and replaced by a small gear. In this case the body is removed to mount the sub frame/drawbar. On to this subframe is mounted a ROUND axle,for a set of 50 inch spocked wheels. The only name like infromation on the kit is on the rear hubcap and frount wheels. The Name on these places is PERU. there are also several apperent part/casting numbers present. Can any one tell me more about this PERU, or the afterproduction kit in general?

Cant give any details but i have seen several of them at shows not uncommon here in IOWA. Did have a pair of brothers that had one near and can remember WALLACE planting corn with the radio playing. Idont remember using it for any other things but chores.This was during WW11.

There are several booklets available where you can see pictures of the finished product as installed on Model T Fords.
Those kits were bought by folks who didn't have access to a regular farm tractor, nor anyplace near enough to buy one, nor the cash! So, sitting out in the yard was an old Model T Ford, not being suitable for road use, so what better to do than convert it into a farm tractor, snow mobile, snow plow, or many other uses. I have seen a booklet that had many pictures of Fords converted to farm tractors. Nothing escaped the minds of those folks when it came to making something with the stuff at hand!
I haven't seen any made for Model A fords, although i have owned several homade tractors, converted from Model A ford cars. They all had bigger truck rear differentials installed in them, and usually had 2 transmissions mounted to give better gearing for hard pulling.
One i had, i made a homade snow plow for it, and i would plow driveways to earn spending money. They finally went to the big scrap yard in the sky, and are resting from many years of hard work! And that was because the wife said:"Clean up or get out!" Being that i loved her, and her cooking, i cleaned it all out!
There was a place in New Springfield, Ohio, name of:"Snyders Ford Country". I don't know if they are still in business, but you might Google it!

Their is one on display in the Pioneer Village Musum in Minden Neb. Its a great place to spend a few days. They have camping.

I'd check local history sources - those things didn't often travel far until they became collectors items. I've got a Ford 1918 Model T snowmobile conversion and a 1920 T tractor conversion. With Model As, I've seen many tractor conversions - some from aftermarket companies and some from other tractor companies. Also, many, many homemade rigs. I have a Ford Model AA here, made into a tractor and it has a huge winch on the back made from a Ford TT rear-axle. I have parts book and plans from Shaw Du-Al in Galesburg,Kansas for their Ford Model tractor kit.

I'm in New York - and if I found a kit with "Peru" written on it, I'd check the history of the town of Peru, NY first (about 75 miles from me).
I know at the least, there are Towns of Peru in Maine, Mass, NY, Indiana, Vermont, Wisconsin, etc. Heck, there might be at least one in just about every state.

Sears sold these kits, and you can find them in old Sears catalogs from the 30's. They would work with T's, A's, and other old cars like Chevies.

i think you have a thrifty farmer. that was a kit sold by sears and wards. it was made in peru ill. by peru wheel and iron works. the kit could use either a ford or chev. two years ago there was three at the clio mi show. enjoy. wally
