Model A Fuel shut off

Is there a packing for shut off valve or best just go new bowl assembly? Leaks around the stem for shutoff.

Yes only problem with old sediment bowls is sometimes you have to get the packing so tight, then you can not turn the shut off valve, then they still want to drip. I get new sediment bowls from steiners tractor parts.

Yes, you can get valve stem packing from most hardware stores. It comes in several sizes.
I like the teflon type.

Slide the hex nut back against the valve T handle. Use a 3 inch piece of teflon pipe tape. twist the tape into a thin string. Wrap the string on the shaft and reinstall the nut. tighten just enough to stop the leak. Jim

For one thing, the originals were back seating. If not completely open, they would leak. So make sure you open it all the way. Otherwise, I have also seen suggestions of waxed dental floss and a small o-ring for packing.

i just use small cotton string for packing the new ones have different threads so just clean the old one and reuse
