The serial number plate should be on top of the dash at the base of steering column and throttle lever. Sometimes these are painted over so it is hard to see them, and sometimes they have been taken off. With that number others can tell you what year it is.

From your...

I may have hazzarded a [u:c4dbe3f1ec]very[/u:c4dbe3f1ec] rough guess it [u:c4dbe3f1ec]may[/u:c4dbe3f1ec] be a TEA20 built in October 1952, but.....

[i:c4dbe3f1ec]... the oil filter is on the left side same as the carburator ... [/i:c4dbe3f1ec]

Confirm - the carby is definately on the [b:c4dbe3f1ec]LEFT[/b:c4dbe3f1ec] side? If the carby is on the [u:c4dbe3f1ec]left[/u:c4dbe3f1ec] side, I doubt it is a Ferguson tractor.

The numbers "16-10-2", are they located here:

Follow the link below to the FENA guide on how to identify Ferguson tractors. It is picture based so it is easy to follow.

The only tractor I can think it might be is a TO-30. The picture is of the TO-30 engine right side. The Oil filter and the carb. are on the same side. But it is the Right side as you sit in the seat.

How are you defining left and right? If you defined left as you look at the tractor from the front... Then this is probally it. If left is define as you sit in the seat then I agree with Bob, I do not know of a Ferguson tractor with that set up.

FENAs How to ID Ferguson tractors

If you have a TEA20, then I suspect the "16-10-2" is the transmission casting date, so tractor production date would be around the end of October, 1952. The Serial Number is probably around 290000 to 300000.

Your tractor was built in Coventry, UK. The engine was made by the Standard Motor Company of Coventry and delivers 28 HP. Parts are readily available at very reasonable prices.

A personal opinion only, but you probably have the best of the grey Ferguson tractors.
