Model C brakes

I just bought a 43 model C with a narrow front. It only has a left brake. The seller told me that the second brake was an option on the narrow fronts at the time. Truth or Fiction?

Hope he didn't tell you nothing is wrong with it and it runs perfectly. Sounds like the guy would say anything to sell it. Lets hope he was just ignorant of the fact.

I think he was repeating what he was told. I was able to get it started easily and it goes through the gears fine although I will have to adjust the clutch.

Someone stripped out whatever was in the housing. Only thing left is the curved sheet metal on top.

The brake band has little clearance inside the housing.. There is a 1 inch hole on the bottom. Poke out all the dirt and sticks and wash out as good as possible. You will need the clearance.. Park under a rafter in the garage.. There is a pivot pin on each end of the brake band. You need to pound them out after removing the snap ring on the inside between the band and housing.. An impact gun with a pointed chisel makes the job easier. You need to hit the pin a couple hundred times to get it out.. Penetrant on the pin might help... To get the band out, connect a #9 wire to it and to your comealong attached to the overhead beam.. Winch it out... Sometimes helps to use the comealong to pull the new band in and around the drum as you PUSH it thru.

If your asking me No gas tank have 2 but both where the sediment bowls go in are bad and ripped out when I tried to remove the sediment bowl assembly. Seat back I think I still have but would need to find where it is. My e-mil is open on here all the time
