Model D question

I have worked on A and B John Deeres, but never a D, to take the head off a 1952 D, does the front end and radiator have to come off? thanks for all replies

Radiator, yes. Front axle, no. Front axle does have to come off if you are removing the cylinders, but not if only the head. Radiator is heavy. I usually support it by removing the grille and using a small chain into the upper tank.

The radiator assy. is almost 200 pounds. Dont ask how I know.
