Model H Oil Filter Element

The parts CD I have says that the Model H oil filter element numbers are AH1111T or AH812R for the early models. The CD also says that the Models M, 320, 330, 40, 420 and 430 use a filter with the number AH1111RT.

The question is are the AH1111T and AH1111RT filter the same? I have an late H in need of an oil change and a filter for the 420 on the shelf. This wouldn"t be the first time I have seen a parts or service manual mistake so I though I would ask around.

The valid (current) John Deere part number for the H filter element is AH1082R.

Be sure not to overlook the A519R filter cap gasket (rubber). If it is old and hard, it needs renewal and can be found at your local JD Ag dealer.

I can't vouch for the AH1111RT -- you may find it valid on the jdparts site -- I didn't check it. All the other numbers you cite are no longer valid. This don't mean the parts catalog is to blame, changes go on!

Zeke, they are the very same filter. This filter was also used on the 1010 and 2010 tractors until they went to the spin on filter. I am not sure why they added the "T" at the end of an established part number. Deere practically never uses over one letter suffix in a part number and nowadays do not use one at all (since part numbers have had over five digits in them). I have noticed this added letter as well and wonder if it simply was a misprint in the original parts book. Hope this helps. Mike

Thanks for the info folks. Its good to hear that I don't have to keep another style filter for this tractor.
