Model H Power Lift

From the large amount of silicone sealant oozing from various parts of the power lift, it is obvious that a previous owner has been “through” the power lift.

Okay, now on to my question, the power lift drive gear is splined only ½ of the thickness of the gear. The power lift came to me with the splined section of the drive gear pointing outward or away from the governor housing.

Is this correct?

Thanks!

I imagine it is correct ? maybe because from the position of the shaft it could bottom out in the shaft splines if the gear had full splines or was flipped the other way. Do some careful measurements of the shaft to housing and from the gear to the lift housing and see where it lies. Also that pump is to have shims to control the mesh of the governor gears. I set my governors up by takeing the pump apart and using just the seperate housing when setting up my shim packs. Much easier than wrestling around the whole pump assy.
