Model H shift lever

Model H gurus: Had to take off shift lever and steering support to realign gears to proper position. Noticed the lever itself had a slight bend. Not thinking this is right but ??? Also the ball is badly pitted so that'll get replaced but how does it come off ? Thanks...

On the shift lever there are two snap rings. One on the outside, one on the inside under the cover. While your by the ball, make a new leather top seal, that goes under the shift quadrant. Make sure the steel ball on the bottom end of the shift lever is in good shape? Make sure new ball is tight on the shift lever and the snap rings are tight in their grooves.
