moline plow shares

I bought a moline two bottom plow this weekend and I'm wondering if there are new shares available that will fit. only numbers I can find on the ones that are on it are CY162A. also I've never used an old trip plow like this and its currently sitting on the ground, how do I get it in the upright position so I can pull it around the yard?

I lifted it and spun the wheel but it just free spins, is there something that wares in there that would prevent it from grabbing?
There should be a lever that you have to pull while you're turning it. Don't expect the whole plow to lift just by turning that one wheel by hand with only one wheel lifted with a jack. You'll either have to lift the whole thing with a loader or plow up the lawn while you pull it and pull the lever at the same time. Not a good idea to drop one of those things down unless you're in the field and ready to plow with it.

I've gotten them back up before but had it hooked to a tractor, jacked on both sides and a person on each side to help steady the plow. It was only a 2 bottom. Always easier to not get into the situation.

Put a couple planks under the mold boards with cleat for lays to catch on. Pull rope and drive ahead.
Actually that plow will be out of the ground in 3 ft. With a 2 bottom you could repair the ground in one minute.

As for the shares of you want it for use rather than show just get any shares and torch hoes in the right place

Will not oliver points fit or is it to old for that it has been a long time since both were joined together as White back in the 60's or 70's . I know rope trip plows predate that by some years. But most of those companies didn't change points unless the made a change to the frog so the old ones would not fit or changed the bolt hole spacing. Out old Oliver plow was a rope trip and I last I knew could buy the same points for it as a new plow takes ina 16 inch bottom. They used to take the Osmundson OO16 point number and Deere was the OD16-4 which meant it had a 16inch point with 4 bolts or was a long and short was something different. It's been 25 or more years since I bought plow points for a plow.

I don't think a trip lift MM plow would have anything in common with an Oliver. A guy in our club has a 2 bottom MM that he brings to plow day and it looks like a Deere. That's what some of us thought it was until we saw some markings on it. It would help a lot to know if they're newer style bottoms with shins or old style, but I doubt he'll know.

The old Oliver we have got converted by Dad and Grandpa when I was a little kid. It uses the same points and shins, moldborads and all as the newer plows did as of the 80's when it was last used. Far as I know the bottoms never were changed from the original and Grandpa bought that plow new also as far as I know. Since there would not have been a lot of 4 bottom plows around in the 1930's or 40's I would suspect most of the equipment he had was bought new over time. The Cat a D-4 Would have been a bit more tractor than most would have been using around here at that time. Dad tells of people working ground with cars and doodle bugs since alot didn't have a tractor or a bigger one to plow with.So would hire the plowing done then work it down with what they had. That was the reason I thought maybe Oliver points might fit.
