my 318's will use 40 gallon in the 1660's every 12 hrs ,, they cut a lot of material in that time though,, the 301 or 401 had they installed the later would have ran on less I am sure,, I know the 354 Perkins were more economical, I have a 284 gasoline in one of my 1000's she will not exceed 9 hours on 40 gallon,, sure never lacked for power with it either, the GO 298 Hercules in my other 1000's and 1010's use less gas than the 284,, I wish I had some with dsl's just to have them, I dont cut enough any more to make a difference,,
