Damn, thats a lot of work!! Lots of places for stuff to go bad!! Have to be really careful on a job like that!! Glad the combines I've bought were within 100 miles and we could pull them home backwards on a plow dolly!!

Great pics! That is a lot of work for sure. How tall was the combine with it setting on the trailer? Just wondering incase I need to haul on the same size one day. HAHA I hauled my litte 45 back from northern IN but only had to let some air out of the tires to get it legal.

That outfit was 13'9" tall.State law says 14'2" is max legal.13'6" is max federal(interstate). We even had to pull the swampcooler. The lowest bridge(underpass) was at Swink,Co at 15'2"(posted)The load was about 7 ton.

Delta, am interested in your shop made rub rail extensions.... can you take a few closeups??, Sent some measurements, , info on material, etc.... Thanks in advance, Ralph. Email is also open!

yes nice pictures. we are looking forward to doing this sometime in near future. a buddy bought a massey in west Kansas (550 mi.) and he is anxious to get it home. hope ours goes as well as yours did.

Thats pushing it for sure. I know I paid a lot more attention to overpass hright signs than I ever have before when i hauled mine back. Thats not a bad load to haul at 7 tons other than the wind hitting it. How long did it take to get it loaded like that?

Thanks for the nice pictures..I'm glad that you had a safe trip..The guys on the tractor transporting forum were 90% against you hauling it but I knew that you would get it done OK as you were prepared for it..Its looks like you had it loaded very securely..

Just curious what kind of fuel mileage that you got loaded...Combines sure have plenty of wind drag..I know all to well from hauling 25 of them..

Thanks for the pics. With the combine down on the floor like that it wasn't going to go anywhere and you don't have to do as much chain work to tie it down. Once it's tightened you might have to re-check it once and the you are usually good to go. It's by far the best way to haul it. Jim

The trail is not mine. The extentions just slip in to the stakepockets. They are 1/4" steel.Built in sections that one man can handle.

Thanks, I'll copy the pics and run them by my blacksmith....I think I got them figured out. Would be handy to have to load some equipment, then take wheels off and block it for the transport.
