Posting a few more rain pictures from yesterdays downpour.
First Picture is the small stream that usually passes under Dad's driveway; the water level is usually below the fence. A lot of derbis caught in the wire to back everything up; luckily he moved the cows to a different pasture the day before.
Second picture is the lane that we usually use to cross the stream. On an average day the stream is six inches or so deep; the path drops down a good 6-8 feet to get to the stream level. Water was flowing up the lane and out into the cornfield behind me.
Last picture is the covered bridge we built about nine years ago. It usually sits a good six feet above the water. Several good size trees managed to wedge themselves in front of the bridge; we would watch a number of good size ones head for the bridge, rattle around underneath it, and pop out on the otherside. It was the first time in nine years we were worried about the bridge giving way -- water had begun to drop later in the day though and the bridge was still there.
